Join us for a rare tasting dedicated exclusively to Aligoté, Burgundy’s “other” white grape. Long overshadowed by Chardonnay, Aligoté is undergoing a renaissance, with winemakers crafting vibrant, mineral-driven wines that highlight its true potential. This tasting will showcase the diverse expressions of Aligoté, celebrating its crisp acidity, subtle salinity, and remarkable aging potential. To delve deeper into the story behind this fascinating grape, check out this video from “the Aligoté whisperer” himself, Sylvain Pataille: The Renaissance of Aligoté.
We’ll be exploring the classic regions, starting with Pataille (Marsannay) and Derain Allez Goutons, before unveiling a rare treat—Aligoté from Burgundy powerhouse Angerville (Volnay)! To cap it off, we’ll open a beautifully aged 2017 Aligoté from Benjamin Leroux, showcasing how gracefully this grape evolves over time. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience Aligoté’s past, present, and future in one tasting!
