So when Rosalind Reynolds' tasting notes for Pink Lemonade read simply "like pink lemonade, but with 11% abv," my reaction was less, "well that seems a bit lazy" and more, "Damn, if that isn't the most apt, efficient, and enticing description!" Because this slightly wacky blend - Abouriou, Colombard, Carignan, Valdiguié, and a touch of Zinfandel, - is pure nostalgia, calling to mind the unabashed glee of Country Time lemonade on a hazy and hot summer afternoon. Strawberry Jolly Rancher, fresh-picked raspberry, a squeeze of lemon, and an outrageously chuggable, easy-going body (again: 11% ABV!!).
