From a special Santa Cruz Mountain vineyard farmed by viticultural legend Prudy Foxx, comes this earthy, beguiling bottling of Merlot from Kristie Tacey. Kristie, our friend and neighbor up the hill, studied microbiology before finding her way to wine. She’s fascinated by cycles of life on all scales and thus prioritizes immaculately farmed vineyard sites when sourcing her fruit. Kristie destemmed most of the grapes here, allowed for native fermentation and then aged this baby for 19 months in neutral French oak. Unfined and unfiltered, this is Merlot in all her glory: medium body with lively tannins, notes of black currant, green peppercorn, mulberry and earth. Pair with a burger to reach the heights of hedonism.
