Nestled between the Russian River and the pines of northern Sonoma is Joseph Swan, the illustrious and elusive softly feathered wine bird of the Pinot world. Here, the winemaker crafts a Pinot as elegant as his namesake: his ‘entry-level’ (in name only) blend called the Cuvee des Trois. The aim is a complete, balanced expression of Russian River Valley, and his 2016 is rich and full with a red cherry core, subtle herbal aromas, and a long, spicy finish. This is as classic as Sonoma Pinot gets.
