The Wall Street Journal recently called Garys’ Vineyard “one of the most famous vineyards in California” -- and this seems incontestable. The two Garys (see where that apostrophe is?) have been doing this awhile, and their wines are among the most consistently magical from the Santa Lucia Highlands. In 2017 it’s all about texture: there’s a velvety mouthfeel at this wine’s core that will please Pinot hedonists to no end. Think raspberries, baking spices, and maybe a hint of vanilla bean. Decant this for extra pleasure.
