We’ve shamelessly been touting the wines of Portugal's Dao region for so long now we can practically be called Daoists. Their wines have structure where it matters, fruit where it’s necessary, and polish where it counts. A blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Jaen (what Spaniards call Mencia), and Alfrocheiro, this is deep red in hue, with woodsy spice, some cinnamon, bakers’ chocolate, and a floral, almost Pinot-like aroma. A freakishly complex and interesting Tinto for the money!
