There's a reason Burgundy has inspired in oenophiles a near-obsessive pursuit of the vinous high that only this storied terroir can provide—a perfect Burgundy, poured in a particular moment, will set alight all the pleasure receptors in your brain, casting a shadow on the mere mortal bottles that follow in its wake. The problem? Burgundy is made up of a series of strikingly different terroir, and the best producers make so little wine that opportunities to taste their most esteemed bottles are remarkably limited (and often, prohibitively expensive!).
This Wednesday, we're pulling back the Burgundian curtain and inventing our friend Thomas Palauqui from Martines Wines to open some of our most limited, allocated, and collectible bottles. This is a rare opportunity to understand what makes these vineyards, and the exceptional houses that source from them, so special. We'll have a number of bottles open to taste, with special bottle discounts for one night only!
