Due to the influx of cheap, blowsy, simple Soaves overloading the bargain shelves in supermarkets, the Garganega grape has got a bad rap. But it’s a good little grape, it just needed a little guidance from some thoughtful caretakers. Using old vine fruit, low yields, and a touch of restraint in the cellar, the Tamellini has created a Garganega masterpiece. Lemon and tangerine zest, a touch of golden apple and a whisp of caramel make this Soave a perfect fit for poached sole with lemon-butter sauce.
