Dagueneau is the Björk of the Loire Valley--the lead nymph of the fantastical forest who whips the naughty faeries into shape. There is simply no other Sauvignon Blanc like this. The wine is so good that we don’t even deserve to have it in the store. An employee glanced at it for a second too long last week, and melted from its racy, white peppery finish. Couldn’t handle the minerality, the lime zest, the salt-water evocation, the seduction, the purity. Weight and elegance, beauty and complexity. Mind blowing wine.
