Bonjour Counoise! This is a grape you should get to know. Grown throughout the Rhône and a key component of many Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines, it’s a rare treat to see her as a solo act. LOTIS is Lindsey Otis, a well trained and well travelled winemaker who recently launched her own label in Sonoma County. She was eager to get her hands on some organically grown Counoise from the red clay soils of Eagle Point Ranch in the northern reaches of the Mayacamas mountain range, a coveted zone indeed. The wine shows a lively floral quality, ripe cherry, raspberry with a white pepper and leather through line. The clay soils leads to a vibrant minerality verging on saltiness.
