To quote Nicole Kidman: "Wow, the power of women!" It's understandable that Rosalind would jump at the chance to work it Ann Kraemer, owner of Shake Ridge Ranch and one of the undisputed icons of organic viticulture in California. This was Rosalind's second vintage working with Shake Ridge fruit, and her first working with Mourvedre. These vines are universally lauded for their clarity of fruit; it's easy to see why. This is dark, brooding, almost feral stuff, packed black cherry and licorice, earthy and savory, but a vein of nervy acidity preserves freshness and a lively balance. Two women at the top of their game collaborating and excelling? We simply love to see it.
