Recently named amongst an impressive roster of “Wine Heiresses Apparent” by Eric Asimov of NY Times fame, Sofia Ruhne is worthy of your attention. Sofia was born in Sweden but raised in the green hills of Greve in the heart of Chianti. Since 2015, she’s run the Terreno estate, an historic winery dating back to the 16th century, purchased by her family in 1988. This comes from all three sites. Terreno gives aromatics and beautiful fruit; Le Bonille lends structure and minerality; Sillano contributes freshness and acidity. Initial fermentations take place in steel with aging in wood, primarily in 24-hectoliter casks, for 14 months. No fining, bottled with a light filtration.
