Description
Chateau Beynat represents everything we love about this oft-overlooked kind of Bordeaux: organic and biodynamic farming, miniscule production, made all by hand. They’ve been making wine in the Right Bank for over 100 years, and they’ve remained impervious to the modern polish that has stripped others in the region of their character.
.
Their ‘Terre Amoureuse’ is exactly what the name suggests - a love letter to the unique terroir of their 1 hectare parcel in Saint Emilion. The soils there are marked by heavy clay which retains water, cooling the Cabernet Franc and Merlot vines and allowing for slow, even ripening. The result is plush, generous wine with elegant structure: blackberry, plum, violets, anise, and allspice, fresh and lively from the moment you pop the cork (i.e., perfectly suited to share over dinner, or to pour all for yourself).
