Jacques Leménicier Père Laurier represents a blend of his best parcels of his oldest vines, aged in 3 barrels of varying maturities. This is a wine he only makes in the best vintages. And 2018 was a fantastic year in Northern Rhône. It presented a warm ripening season, drawing out deep and generously developed fruit that has proven to be friendly and approachable in its relative youth, but with bones to age in the cellar for decades to come. This is Syrah at its finest: spiced plum and cocoa-dusted blackberry, iron-rich earth, savory garrigue and bloody, wild gaminess that satisfies even the most subconscious primal cravings.
