Meet our favorite little Loire Valley oddball: Grolleau! A grape adored by Oakland hipsters and geeky wine writers alike for the way it can make lightweight, eminently gluggable reds. We love the reds, too, but think that rosé is where the grape most often shines. Haut Bourg’s version is a store staple, as year in and year out it seems to deliver nothing but pleasure. Very shy on the red fruits, this lean, taut, mineral-inflected blusher is a flat-out bargain. It is the official color of warm weather, and goes down perilously quick!
