Join us to meet and taste with an amazing duo of winemakers! Unturned Stone was founded in 2010 by Erin Mitchell and Randy Czech, two industry veterans dedicated to traditional wine growing and winemaking in Northern California. On a personal note I have a great amount of respect and gratitude for Erin since she was one of the first people I had worked with in the Bay Area wine scene almost a decade ago. We obviously enjoy working with all of our winemakers and purveyors but it is people like Erin that make our line of work special.

Erin and Randy honor Mother Nature’s intentions and the work of the farmers by only sourcing organically grown grapes from Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. All of the ferments occur naturally, and they rely on taste and experience rather than lab numbers to guide their winemaking. No additions or subtractions in the winery other than minimal sulfur as needed, low intervention winemaking in short. The philosophy is that good wine is grown rather than made and they see themselves simply as custodians of the process.
