In English, La Grande Boucle means "The Big Loop." With the Olympics happening in Paris, we thought we'd do a French-themed tasting, exploring some of the most iconic wine regions in the country. On Thursday, our friend (and real-life Frenchman) Paul Duroussay, of Pierreclos Imports, will be our guide to all things French wine. Paul, who's originally from Burgundy, started Pierreclos with the hopes of connecting small-wine producers in France to like-minded customers in the US. He’s a firm believer in family farmers with a hands-on approach. All three of our shops have had a wonderful relationship with Paul since the day he became an importer—and we couldn’t have met a better ambassador for under-the-radar French gems. We’re going to start with one of his newer producers in Champagne, take a few stops in Alsace and Jura along the way, and end up back in his hometown. While we may be rooting for team USA in Paris, we have no problem celebrating these veritable French golds.
