Nada…It’s a family affair! Join us to taste with Enrico Nada, a third generation winemaker from Piedmont who makes some seriously stunning, low-intervention Barbareschi. Enrico took over winemaking responsibilities from his dad Giuseppe about a decade ago. Nowadays, Giuseppe and his wife Nella get their steps in working the vineyards (some of the best in Barbaresco we should add) and Enrico’s sister, Barberba, manages the office
Azienda Agricola Nada Giuseppe, Nada for short, is the family winery just outside the village of Trieso in the rolling hills east of Alba. The Nada family purchased a small vineyard, orchard and home in these hills in 1900 and there they have remained. The Nada’s found themselves in the right place at the right time in the ‘60s when Enrico Nada’s grandfather built a small, proper cellar and began bottling some of the family’s wine. In 1966, just a few years after these first bottlings the Barbaresco DOC was established.
Enrico took over winemaking responsibilities just about a decade ago and made some changes: he ditched SO2 additions during fermentation, reduced additions at bottling, he also stopped fining the wines and only does a very light filtration as needed. Best of all, he convinced Mom and Dad to go organic! The Nada’s vineyards were certified in 2017.
Come meet Enrico, learn more about Barbaresco and taste these sultry, silky, floral beauties.
