Friday Fešta: 10 Croatian Wines @ Solano Cellars June 14th

For all its hard-to-pronounce native varieties, Croatian wine is as easy to love and accessible as just about any wine producing country in the world. Its four major wine regions stretch from the mountainous, sea-sprayed coastline to its warm, continental inland, not unlike California's own vast wine landscape (and in fact, Zinfandel is a Croatian import). With an increasing spotlight being shone on the country, winemakers in Croatia are highlighting ancient, indigenous varieties, making wines that honor tradition while keeping on eye fixed towards experimentation and innovation.

On Friday, our friends at Danch & Granger and Vinum imports will pour through a lineup of our favorite new releases, from beachy bubbles to boldly structured reds (and will teach everyone how to pronounce those tricky č, ž, and š in the process).

We'll have TEN wines open, offering two flights - one that showcases the best versions of traditional Croatian winemaking, the other drawing focus to a new wave of winemakers experimenting with different techniques and approaches that still honor native varieties and terroir.

Two flights of 5 wines available for $20 each ($15 for club)
Taste all 10 for $35 ($25 for club)
Friday, June 14th from 5-8
